You will see the hashtag #iknownobox or logo on the posts and pictures I create. For some, it is self-explanatory, but there is a little more to the tagline than just thinking outside the box. "I know no box! I like to think outside the box. I don't know what's in the box because I have never been in the box. So, I say let's lets recycle the box."
Why do I say this? I like to think outside the box and look for new solutions to old problems. When I say "the box," I mean traditional ways of doing things. I believe it's important to challenge the status quo regarding how organizations deal with their human capital or people, which is why I'm so passionate about HR.
Having worked as a front-line employee in several organizations for over 25 years, I've seen how technology has changed our work. However, I've also seen many ways organizations could have done better for their employees. Surprisingly, many of these improvements would have been free simply by asking employees for feedback.
So, when I say I know no box, I mean that I am not limited by traditional ways of doing things. I don't know what's inside the box because I've never been in it. So, that's why I think we should recycle the box and be open to new ways of doing things.
