Founded on November 17, 2021, by Samena Brinkman, SBL People Solutions embodies a mission close to Samena’s heart. The name SBL not only represents her initials, Samena Brinkman-Lyon, but also stands for Sustainable Business Leadership—a reflection of her commitment to creating workplaces where people and businesses can thrive sustainably.​

With a foundation rooted in People First cultures, employee engagement, and meaningful employee experiences, SBL People Solutions was inspired by Samena’s extensive background in HR, telecom, and union environments. Since its inception, the consultancy has embraced Samena’s Culture Hero and Dragon Slayer approach, focusing on identifying and eliminating disengagement dragons—the hidden cultural barriers that quietly hinder employee satisfaction and growth.
 

What began as a passion project has become a purposeful quest, empowering organizations to redefine their cultures, embrace inclusive practices, and prepare for the future of work.
